The Story Behind the Celebration

Set against the tranquil waters of Olam on the Lake, Suma & Rajiv’s wedding cocktail soirée on 23 October 2025 was a tale of love, resilience, and joy — curated with heart by La Florette Wedding Planners, Kochi.

It was the Malayalam month of Thulam — the romantic monsoon season when clouds kiss the earth. Though the skies tested our plans with relentless drizzle, it only deepened the beauty of what was to unfold.

Turning Rain into Radiance

At the last moment, with weather shifting, our team decided to install a German clear anchor tent — transparent enough to let the sunset hues and lake breeze filter through. It shielded guests from the rain while keeping the venue’s natural charm untouched.
Under the gleaming canopy, acrylic chairs shimmered, disco balls sparkled overhead, and every corner glowed with warmth — proof that sometimes, rain doesn’t ruin magic; it redefines it.

 Guests, Joy, and Gentle Care

With most guests arriving from the North, La Florette orchestrated traveller services to ferry them comfortably from their hotels to the lakeside venue and back — ensuring that every part of the evening flowed effortlessly.

As the drizzle softened, laughter filled the air. The couple’s friends and families arrived to find a venue that felt intimate, festive, and alive — a lakeside paradise framed in reflections of light.

 A Love That Began at the Desk

Suma & Rajiv’s love story began at their office desks in Bengaluru — two colleagues who became confidants and then inseparable partners.
There were two heartfelt proposals, countless shared coffees, and years of laughter that led to this day of celebration. They asked us to design a storybook installation narrating their journey — from “Desk Mates” to “Soul Mates.”

It became one of the most-loved corners of the event — a visual memoir of their sweet, spontaneous, and genuine love story.

Bars, Banter & The ‘Jhingala Gangsters’

The groom’s father, an Army Captain, requested a special bar corner for his comrades — a lively nook humorously named “Jhingala Gangsters’ Den.”
This exclusive corner buzzed with camaraderie, laughter, and nostalgia — a fitting tribute to years of friendship.

Meanwhile, for the rest of the guests, the main counter named “Drunk in Love” served up cocktails and conversations that carried late into the evening — each sip infused with the couple’s free-spirited energy.

Sundown Magic

Despite the earlier rain, the skies cleared just in time for sunset. The golden light danced upon the lake as music filled the air.
Our rustic-sundowner décor — wooden lanterns, soft florals, and gentle earthy tones — blended seamlessly with the lakeside view.
Under the glimmer of fairy lights and mirrored disco balls, the night transformed into a festival of togetherness.

What Made It Special

This celebration was more than a party — it was a testament to adaptability, artistry, and love’s enduring warmth.
Despite challenges, every element — from décor to logistics — reflected La Florette’s commitment to elegance and heart-driven detail.
By the night’s end, as laughter echoed across the lake and the couple twirled beneath the shimmering canopy, we knew we had turned a stormy forecast into a story worth remembering.
